Annual Survey & Data

2010 Clean Cities Coalition Annual Survey

It's time again for the annual Clean Cities Coalition Survey! Conducting a survey is required of all Clean Cities Coalitions to retain their designation by the DOE, and the data collected is critical to measuring and assessing the impact of the program. It also assists the Coalition and others in the region in making outreach and education campaigns more effective through feedback on previous efforts and improved strategies going forward. Your participation in this survey is greatly appreciated! We ask that you submit your survey NO LATER THAN MARCH 30th, 2010 to cleancities@h-gac.com.

Please note that you do not have to be a member of the Clean Cities Coalition to submit a survey - we invite all organizations with fleet operations in the greater Houston region to participate.

We respect your privacy - data will be compiled, analyzed, and presented without reference to your contact/company information.

2010 Annual Survey Form

The survey form has been revised this year to make it more user-friendly. All data submitted should relate to events, fleets, and operations in the greater Houston region (Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller counties) during 2009. Forms are all contained in a single Excel file, with six (6) tabs.

  • Basic Information tab: This helps us keep our contact databases up-to-date, and helps us to have a broad understanding of the nature of your organization. This is also the tab to provide any general feedback you have regarding our program or the alternative fuels/advanced vehicle technology marketplace.

  • Events & Outreach Data tab: This helps us understand what events representatives from your organization have been attending during 2009, and the topics that you've been finding of most interest.

  • Grants Data tab: This helps us understand how grants are helping to facilitate projects your organization has been involved in during 2009, and what projects are being successfully implemented through this approach.

  • Fleet Data tab: This helps us understand the composition of the fleets in the greater Houston region, and helps us to identify potential opportunities that exist in regards to the expansion of the alternative fuels/advanced vehicle technologies sector. For this tab, please include your whole on-road and off-road vehicle/equipment fleet. If the vehicle/equipment listed was added or retired during 2009, please be sure to note this. For usage statistics, please provide as much information as possible/applicable, particularly with regards to fuel consumption during 2009.

  • Infrastructure Data tab: This helps us understand what alternative fuel/advanced vehicle technology infrastructure is available for use in our region, and the level at which this infrastructure is currently being utilized.  For usage statistics, please provide as much information as possible/applicable, particularly with regards to fuel consumption during 2009.

  • Usage Reduction Data tab: This helps us understand what other efforts in the way of idle-reduction, mass transit subsidies, and other demand reduction programs/policies are in place in the region, and the level at which these programs/policies are currently being utilized.

Prior Annual Survey Results

Data consists of information collected by previous annual Clean Cities surveys as submitted to the U.S. Department of Energy. Numbers over time vary based in part on which respondents participated during which year(s), and how many respondents there were in total; in general, the sample size is quite low. Consequently, readers are cautioned not to use this data for developing/extrapolating regional trends over time.
