Texas Emission Reduction Program (TERP)
Texas Hydrogen Infrastructure, Vehicle, and Equipment Program (THIVE) (Closes February 27, 2024)
- Replacing or repowering the following with hydrogen-powered models or powertrains:
- On-road heavy-duty motor vehicles (such as transit buses, school buses, haul trucks, etc.); and
- Non-road heavy-duty equipment (such as forklifts, cargo-handling equipment, etc.).
- Purchasing or leasing new heavy-duty motor vehicles and non-road equipment powered by hydrogen.
- Installing hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
Light-Duty Motor Vehicle Purchase or Lease Incentive Program (LDPLIP) (Closes March 22, 2024)
- ehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds or less, such as cars, and small- or medium-sized trucks. Must:
- Be purchased or leased new.
- Operate on compressed natural gas, liquified petroleum gas (propane), hydrogen fuel cell, or electric drive (plug-in or plug-in hybrid).
- Conversion systems for compressed natural gas or propane.
Alternative Fueling Facilities Program (AFFP) (Closes March 22, 2024)
Eligible alternative fuel types for projects include: compressed natural gas, liquified natural gas, or a combination of the two; hydrogen; biodiesel; biodiesel blends; propane; electricity; and methanol (at least 85% by volume).
- Biodiesel and biodiesel blends must meet the criteria in the Request for Grant Applications.
- Eligible projects must include the construction or reconstruction of an alternative fueling facility.
- Facilities that are open to the public will be considered for funding before private ones.
Texas Clean School Bus Program (TCSB) (Closes October 14, 2024)
- Replacing pre-2007, diesel-fueled school buses with buses that are the current or previous model year at the time you apply. If a bus is used under a lease or lease-purchase agreement, it only qualifies as a retrofit project.
- Purchasing and installing a retrofit system on an eligible school bus.
Texas Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Program (TxVEMP) - All Electric Grant Program (Closes August 31, 2025)
This opportunity will help individuals, state and local governments, corporations, or any other legal entity in replacing or repowering a vehicle or a piece of equipment from one of the categories listed below, and may request additional funding for refueling infrastructure.
- Class 8 Local Freight and Port Drayage Trucks
- Class 4-8 School Bus, Shuttle Bus, & Transit Buses
- Class 4-7 Local Freight Trucks
- Airport Ground Support Equipment
- Forklift and Port Cargo Handling Equipment
- Refueling Infrastructure
